New England Fruit Consultants (NEFCON) conducts a regular research and demonstration field day during which information on current research projects and topics of key interest to the tree fruit industry are spotlighted. The meeting is held at the NEFCON research farm in Shelburne, MA and is attended by representatives of the agrichemical industry, universities, Cooperative Extension, regulatory agencies and others, as well as a large cross-section of growers from the tree-fruit growing community. The meeting affords an excellent opportunity for effective information exchange and networking between various stakeholders in tree fruit production.
After initial greetings and introductions, meeting attendees tour research and demonstration plots at the NEFCON research farm. Ample opportunity is provided for questions and discussion of each investigation. Upon completion of the field tour, a full speaking program is presented in comfortable facilities located near the research farm. Pesticide Certification Credits are provided for attendance. Upon completion of the meeting, a free, catered bar-b-que lunch is offered to all participants.
